Blogspot vs. Wordpress

I've used both of these blog creators and I personally preferred BlogSpot. It's very simple and extremely easy to use. As nice as WordPress is, it just did not have the same vibe I had with BlogSpot.

There are an easy four tabs in BlogSpot, all making your blog making experience fun and easy. WordPress just has too much going on and is a littler overwhelming. I'm not saying that WordPress is bad, but if i had to make a decision between these two blog sites, I would go with BlogSpot definatly.

Music From Then 'til Now

Through generations, music has changed extremely rapid. Let's go back to a huge rock landmark with the British Invasion. In 1964 rock and roll bands from the United Kingdom became increasingly famous in the United States. Probably the most profound and well known from these bands would be the Beatles. Others include Chad & Jeremy, The Rolling Stones, and The Animals, among many others. These bands started a completely different take on music for people and made a whole new trend.

Now in the late 60's, a new genius emerged. Just by himself, he dented and made an impact on how people think of music forever, and his name was Jimi Hendrix. Starting a whole genre that included all the sounds that everyone else was making into a unique, hard to find masterpiece. He was the first to use stereophonic and phases on guitar recordings, as well as other ideas that created a sound not heard by anyone yet. Hendrix passed away in 1970 in the heat of his fame. Even today, many, many guitarists praise him and his work as their model.

The 70's were probably some of the best rock years. Some of these people include: Stevie Wonder, Led Zeppelin, Elton John, Pink Floyd, Bob Marley, The Who, Bob Dylan, and lots of others. Every one of these bands or people probably stick out to you because they were in fact, and still are some of the most famous bands of all time.

We could write 10 pages on music from the 70's, 80's, and 90's, you could go into Van Halen, Stevie Ray Vaughan, Joe Satriani, Paul Gilbert, or many other....but lets skip and look to music today. No longer do you have these bands, nor do you really have many bands at all. Although rock has recently been a little more popular, since 2000, rock has been at a very fast decrease. New kids who grow up around rapping and hip-hop stick to that, and don't listen to much rock anymore. I'm not saying that hip-hop or anything like that isn't good to listen to, but we really need some diversity in the things we listen to. Auto-tuners and the same beats make most songs sound almost identical to eachother.

Although it may sound like I'm bashing the people who are around today, I'm not. There are absolutely amazing bands around today. Probably my 3 most influenctial muscians of today include, John Frusciante, Dave Matthews and Tom Morello. These people include tones from back then, as well as futuristic sounds and make amazing music. They cover many genres of many music and create their own sounds.

We need more people to emerge like this. I hate to say it but good music has really gone down the drain. Sure we can still listen to music from the 70's and 80's, but we need more bands to emerge. It's hard to get a start on your band when all the current trends aloud are drum machines and auto-tune. The point I'm trying to make is go find a good band that you've never listened to and support them, and try and help get some new music, because YOU HAVE THE POWER TO, and help some talented person get a start.
